Just an update on our son's surgery

Tommy had his surgery yesterday to remove the tumor on his finger.  Everything went great and he is home resting and doing fine.
We won't know the results of the biopsy for a week or so.
Please pray for no Cancer, we've had our share of it this year.
Also, please pray for my dad, he will have his bladder removed on Tuesday to rid his body of Cancer.  He should be fine after his recoup time.  Oddly enough, there a lot of people walking around without bladders and doing great.  Who knew?
Thanks for the prayers, comments and 'hugs', we hold on to them tightly!

The Weather, here in Kentucky:
Very windy, sunny and chilly.  We had hot temps in March and now we are having a high of 56 today.  But at least we're not dealing with snow like some are on the east coast.

On My Reading Pile:
ESV Bible
The Simplicity Primer
Just in Case: how to be self sufficient when the unexpected happens

On my TV:
I am watching Miss Marple on my iPod through Netflix, also watching Poirot.

On the Menu this week:
Monday; Spaghetti Casserole, salad, homemade bread
Not sure about the rest of the week just yet, will update the post when I have it figured out!

On my To-do List:
cut out and make skirt for Katie
Make a few heating bags
Write out menu and grocery list
Tomorrow our worms we ordered will be here to put in our compost bin!
Make four cards and get them sent
What I'm creating:
Still finishing up the edges on my crocheted dishcloths
Crocheting gift for *someone*
sewing skirt for Katie
sewing jumper for Me
a batch of soap
starting our hand dipped candles
Well, our homeschooling days ended a couple of years ago when our last one graduated.  We homeschooled all three through high school.  They are now 27, 25 and 22.
So I guess I'll call this...
we started many plants from seed and are learning what works and what doesn't work!  Some we planted too early but we'll know for next time.  All of our seeds are heirloom so we're trying to keep them going until we can plant outside which will be a couple more weeks.
Around the House:
Dan just got home from work and is settling in on the couch in the living room.
Christopher is playing his guitar and Katie and I are finishing our tea so we can go to the sewing room to start our projects.
From the camera:
These are some of the dishcloths we just finished.

Something fun to share:
We started a new blog about our homesteading journey, it's been fun to share our journey with others!

On my prayer List:
Our son Tommy is having surgery to remove a tumor on his finger this Thursday
Next Monday my dad is having surgery to remove his bladder due to Cancer
Extended family that have had losses lately, some really sad situations

Bible Verse; Devotional...
Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

A New Blog Journey!!!!

Click the photo to go to our brand new homesteading blog!
We would love to have you follow our journey as we discuss step by step our journey towards true homesteading.  We have a ways to go to get there but want to share the steps as we take them as well as the steps we've taken thus far.
We will post lost of pics and our joys and triumphs as we move forward knowing there will be lots of triumphs as well as errors.
We are working toward composting, recycling and giving in our goal to have as little to pull to the curb come trash pickup day as possible, striving for a huge recycling pile and teeny tiny garbage pile as we have curbside pickup for both on the same morning.
The new blog is:

We will discuss all of our make at home ventures in:
Prepare to Share
Paring Down
Weight Control
Farm Critters
...will be more as we go along

Also, we'll share our weekly does of 'Out with the New, In with the Old' as we purge the complicated to bring in the simple.  Come join us to learn more!
